Aloe paste is a product obtained from the aloe gum, the yellow bitter sap produced from most aloe varieties. Most aloe paste comes from the aloe ferox in South Africa, aloe barbadensis miller in Venezuela and Mexico and aloe secundiflora in South Africa, Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.

The product is manufactured by cooking aloe gum in liquid condition until a greenish rocky paste is obtained. It is a product mostly used to obtain aloin, aloesin, and aloe emodin for pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries. Some alcoholic beverage companies (mainly those producing bitters) also uses the product.
