Aloe SaponariaAloe saponaria is one of the main varieties of aloe used worldwide. The aloe saponaria is commercially grown mainly at Southern Africa, Italy, Argentina and some Asian locations. It is a variety highly used in Argentina, as dietary supplement, juice, health food and into cosmetics. Many researches said it has more properties than the other aloe varieties for digestive treatments and heart diseases. Aloe saponaria has lower aloin content than other aloe varieties, therefore has less bitter taste than other aloes. The aloe vera is the main aloe commercially grown at the five continents. Most aloe products contain aloe vera, mainly because traditionally it has been more studied than other varieties and many researches said it has more properties than the other aloe varieties. However, when we analyse the aloe constituents we must emphasize that aloe vera is very good for some applications such as pharmaceutical, cosmetic, cosmeceutical and nutraceutical products, while aloe saponaria is good for other applications, i.e. for certain health foods, juices or nutrition products for human and animals.
